HART is rolling out its new Flex service beginning April 12.
HARTFlex is an on-demand, curb-to-curb van-based service open to all passengers.
HARTFlex has the advantages of a traditional fixed bus route with the convenience of curbside pickup.
HARTFlex pilot programs will kick off in Brandon and South Hillsborough County (Wimauma/ Sun City Center) April 12.
The Westfield Brandon Shopping Mall is the base for the Brandon Flex service.
Flex allows the van to maneuver up to a ½ mile from the route on request in the Sun City Center area or anywhere in the Brandon Flex zone.
The cost for a one way fare is 85¢, while an all day Flex pass is $1.85. Flex offers Monday-Friday service 6 A.M.- 8 P.M., however, service in Brandon is also available on Saturdays from 7:40 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
To request pickup service, customers can call 813-449-4555. Customers can reserve a trip from 3 hours to one week in advance of the desired trip time. Those that book the same trip in the same zone at least three times a week can request subscription service.
HART will evaluate both service areas for ridership and customer satisfaction, as well as their ability to serve new areas.
