HART Donates Surplus Vehicles to Local Community Programs

The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority has a surplus vehicle donation program in which eligible vehicles will be made available to community non-profit agencies to enhance transportation service to Hillsborough County residents.

HART recently announced that two 1999 Dodge Caravans were available for donation, and issued a call for applications from eligible community agencies and organizations. A selection committee evaluated approximately10 applications received , and selected The following agencies have been selected to receive the two 1999 Dodge Caravans:

Everyday Blessing, Inc. provides services to children who have been abused, abandoned and neglected. The goal is to place them in safe, stable and permanent homes. Transportation needs includes medical appointments, hospital visits, transportation to school, agency sponsored outing, summer enhancement programs and required state evaluation.

DACCO (Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office, Inc.) provides drug treatment services. The community-based substance abuse service system reaches over 25,000 persons annually. DACCO transports clients to a wide variety of appointments that include medical, education and training related employment, daycare, and other recovery related activities.
