HART TO HOST A BUS SERVICE
PLANNING WORKSHOP

May 28, 1999 � TAMPA, FLORIDA � The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) will host a bus service planning workshop as part of its mobility study.� The workshop will be on June 8, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Westshore Baptist Church located at 305 N. Manhattan Avenue in Tampa.� This location is served by HART bus routes 30 & 36.

The Community is encouraged to participate in this workshop.� The purpose of the workshop is to identify a bus service concept or framework that will guide the development of a seamless intermodal system for the Tampa Bay region.� Types of service options to be explored include express buses, local bus routes, route deviations, neighborhood� circulators and demand response services.There will be discussion on how these types of services are suited for urban, suburban and rural areas.

The workshop will be divided into two sections.� The first part will review different bus system concepts.� The second part will include opportunities for the participants to provide comments on the concepts and to help identify a preferred concept.� This workshop builds on the results of two previous public workshops held in November 1998 and February 1999.

The Mobility Project is a series of multimodal transportation improvements including rail, bus, roadway, intelligent transportation systems and bike/pedestrian projects.
