Jill K. Cappadoro HART TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON SERVICE MODIFICATIONS TO ROUTES 10 AND 30 July 10, 2000 - TAMPA, FLORIDA - The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) will hold a public hearing to take comments on proposed changes to Routes 10-Cypress Street and Route 30-Town n Country. The public hearing will be held Monday, July 31, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. in the County Center Planning Commission Board Room at 601 E. Kennedy Boulevard, 18th Floor, in downtown Tampa. The regular monthly meeting of the HART Board of Directors will be held immediately following the public hearing. It is proposed that Route 10 travel on Kennedy Boulevard between HARTs Northern Terminal in downtown Tampa and Westshore Plaza, a change from its current routing along Cypress Street to Westshore Boulevard. The proposed change would reduce travel along the congested areas on Westshore Boulevard currently traveled by Route 10, as well as enable the route to operate on a more timely schedule. The southern Westshore Boulevard/Briton Plaza segment would remain the same. An additional enhancement to be discussed at the public hearing includes modifying the Route 30 to travel Cypress Street rather than its current routing on Kennedy Boulevard when traveling between Northern Terminal in downtown Tampa and Westshore Plaza. This proposed modification would provide direct access between Tampa International Airport and the hotels and businesses located along West Cypress Street. This change will support new bus service to the Rocky Point area. Written public comments on the proposed route changes will be accepted through July 26, 2000. The HART Board will review recommendations and authorize final routing at the July 31, 2000 meeting of the HART Board of Directors. Send comments to: HART, Attn: Route 10 & 30 Public Hearing, 201 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Suite 1600, Tampa, Florida 33602.
