HART PARTICIPATES IN UNIVERSITY AREA
BIKE SAFETY RODEO

HART, in conjunction with the University North Transportation Initiative (UNTI) and the Transportation Management Organization Coordinating Group (TMOCG) are teaming up to promote safe bicycling for adults and children. The event will be held in the University Mall's parking deck next to Dillard's Department Store, Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and will feature various events and assorted give-a ways for participants.

  • Children ages 6 through 16 who participate in the Bike Safety Rodeo will receive a free bicycle helmet or bike lights and earn the chance to win one of FIVE bicycles!

 

  • Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) will register people (ages 8 or older) for the Bikes-on-Buses program. The $2 permit cost will be waived for the first 100 participants of the program. Children and adults who participate will also be eligible to receive free bicycle helmets, lights, and more!

 

  • HART Ride fare cards will be distributed free to the first 50 kids and 25 adults who receive their Bikes-on-Bus permit card. Everyone who completes the program will earn a chance to win one of five bicycles to be given away!

 

  • Demonstration tables will be set up in the Mall Atrium to link riders with safety information.

 

  • Staff of the University Bicycle Center will be on hand to provide free bike checks.
