HART ANNOUNCES SERVICE LEVELS DURING TROPICAL STORM GABRIELLE

September 14, 2001 � Tampa, Florida � With regard to the impending storm conditions, the following is the status of services provided by the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART):

Fixed Route Bus Service

HART is operating regularly scheduled bus service. However, service is contingent upon weather conditions and area flooding. Patrons are encouraged to stay informed about storm conditions and to minimize travel.

For more information call the HARTinfo Line at (813) 254-4278 and for TDD call (813) 626-9158. The HARTinfo Line is staffed from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and a recorded message will be available during the hours the office is closed.

HART patrons are encouraged to call the HARTinfo Line prior to beginning their travel on the mornings of Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15, or if severe changes in the weather become apparent.

HARTplus ADA Paratransit Service for People with Disabilities

HART paratransit services for people with disabilities will mirror serve levels provided by the bus system. This may change due to severe changes in weather, such as high winds. For more details, patrons should call the HARTinfo Line at (813) 254-4278 and for TDD call (813) 626-9158.

Emergency Evacuation

Citizens needing information about emergency evacuations or with special medical needs should call the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at (813) 272-6900.

The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority operates under the EOC plan in the event of a hurricane. Service levels are subject to change; therefore the community is encouraged to call the HARTinfo Line and stay informed via news broadcasts for the most up-to-date details about transit services.
