Status of Public Transit Service

September 3, 2004 - Tampa, Florida �With regard to impending storm conditions, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) public transit bus, paratransit van, trolley and streetcar services will continue to operate its regularly scheduled services. There will be no bus, paratransit, or trolley bus service on Monday, September 6 due to the Labor Day holiday.

In the event of severe weather conditions including gusting winds and flooding, certain services may be suspended or cancelled.

HART patrons are encouraged to monitor local media announcements for the status of public transportation before, during and after the storm, or call the HARTinfo Line at (813) 254-4278, and for TDD at (813) 626-9158. A recorded message with updates on service levels will be available during non-business hours.

Citizens needing information about emergency evacuations or with special medical needs should call the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at (813) 272-6900. The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority operates under the EOC plan in the event of a hurricane.
